PATTERNS OF PUBIC, AXILLARY AND SCALP HAIRS IN KOREAN YOUNG WOMEN BASIC STUDY FOR TRANSPLANTATION OF PUBIC HAIR

Abstract
The distributions of the patterns, stream, density and quality of public, axillary and postauricular scalp hairs were observed in 100 primigravida Korean young women form 21 to 31 years old of age and the results were as follows:

1) Among the usually classified 4 types of public hair pattern, the Horizontal type was predominant as 83%, next Acuminate types as 14%, Linear Few type as 3% cane in order.

There is none of complete atrichosis pubis.

2) Among the 4 types of Axillary Hair pattern. Whole type was predominant as 87%, and the Brachial type, the Few type, the Pectoral type came in order.

3) The widest width of public hair bearing area was average 12.1cm and the vertical height from anterior labial area was average 10.9cm. The longest diameter of axillary hair area was average 10.0cm and the shortest diameter was average 3.5cm.

4) In the stream of public hair, Centripetal type was majority as 96%, Centrifugal type was 3% and Irregular type was 1%.

5) The density was 46.4/cm©÷ in public hair, 42.0/cm©÷ in axillary hair with ratio of 0.9 to public hair density, 12.6/cm©÷ in scalp hair with ratio of 2.7 to public hair density.

6) In the qulaity, the hair was curly in 100% in public hair, 91% in axillary hair, and 10% in scalp hair. The remainder was smooth.
